Deans Forum Lectureship on "Micro/Nano Fluidics and Bio-Medical Applications" was held at UTokyo

A Micro/Nano Fluidics and Bio-Medical Applications intensive summer lecture course was held on July 31st, August 4th, and August 5th, 2014, in lecture room 57 of Engineering Building #5 at the University of Tokyo. This intensive course was the first joint intensive lecture of its kind by interdisciplinary educational fields from Deans Forum member universities.

Basic course and applications lectures were provided by two faculty members from the School of Engineering along with five invited lecturers from MIT, UCB, and ETH. 30-40 students attended the lecture.

During the lecture there was a lively question and answer session. Participant questionnaires included comments such as "This was a very meaningful lecture; it covered everything from the basics to advanced topics," "I enjoyed learning from such an outstanding lecturer about the future of the biomedical engineering field and the potential uses of microfluidic devices."

Subsequent Deans Forum lectureships are planned for the following academic years, which will be open to students from the Deans Forum member universities.
