Prerequisites
Everyone is required to belong to a lab and conduct research.
It is very important for applicants to have a clear idea of their research theme and to know which lab they want to belong to before they start applying for the exchange program in order that they may have a productive and fulfilling study period during their exchange. We look forward to receiving prepared and enthusiastic students through our exchange program.
You need to decide your period of stay at the University of Tokyo at the time of application.
You are NOT allowed to take any classes outside of School/Faculty of Engineering except from Graduate School of Information Science and Technology for Graduate level students.
If your home school is party to the Bologna Process, you understand ECTS-Credit transfers.
With regard to Credit Transfers, please consult your home university.
You Must Obtain a Student Visa before Entering Japan.
You realize the importance of maintaining good health while studying at the University of Tokyo.
The School of Engineering does not require you to submit to a Health Check, but needs all applicants to realize the importance of maintaining good health while studying at the University of Tokyo.
Therefore, since the University of Tokyo provides you with an opportunity for a physical and medical check-up after enrolment every April and October, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and be responsible for your physical health.
