Report on the Doctoral Students' Research Project in Overseas Universities for the Establishment of New Educational Programs in Engineering

Under the "Re-Inventing Japan Project" initiative by the MEXT, the Graduate School of Engineering aims to promote the formation of a multidisciplinary research and educational environment through collaboration with leading partner universities in the U.S. and Europe. To this end, five doctoral students were selected to conduct research related to multidisciplinary themes of their choice in overseas universities.
On June 17th 2013, a reporting session was held and students shared their proposals for the establishment of new educational programs in engineering, based on their research and experience. The presentations were followed by an active Q&A session and discussion, with the participation of Dean Harata, on how successful multidisciplinary educational programs can be organized at the Graduate school of Engineering.
