Bologna Process

Undergraduate level (first cycle) = 180 - 240 ECTS (3 to 4 years)
Master's level (second cycle) = 60 - 120 ECTS (1 to 2 years)
Doctoral level = the third cycle

Note 1: If you are applying for Graduate level, you do not have to complete first cycle at the time of registration provided that you have reached such level by the time of entry as an exchange student at the University of Tokyo.

Note 2: If you are completing the first cycle (240 ECTS and the final project) in less than 4 years by the time of entry, you can apply as a Graduate level student even if you do not have 16 years of education to be considered as Master's level in Japan. However, you need to have a sufficient document to prove this fact.
